About Ride Himalaya

Motorcycle Adventures in the Himalayas

Not a tourist itinerary. A journey we created ourselves.

You cannot truly experience the Himalayas through a standard tourist programme.

Here, the road can be more exciting than the destination. A random turn can lead to a place that does not appear in any guidebook. And a single day in the mountains can stay with you longer than an entire holiday.

That is exactly the kind of journey Ride Himalaya creates.

We choose routes we would want to ride ourselves. We find places worth taking a detour for. We change plans when the mountains demand it. And we bring it all together into a journey you simply cannot get from a ready-made tour package.

These are our routes. Our experience. Our way of seeing the Himalayas.

The Himalayas Are Not a Backdrop

You can fly to Nepal, see Everest in a photograph, and tick it off your list.

Or you can ride hundreds of kilometres along mountain roads, cross a high pass on a motorcycle, stop in a small village, drink tea with local people, discover a monastery on the edge of a gorge, and spend the night with nothing but mountains around you.

We choose the second option.

Because for us, a journey begins where the ordinary sightseeing programme ends.

We Create Routes, We Don’t Sell Package Tours

Every one of our journeys has an idea behind it.

Everest — to experience the scale of the Himalayas and see the highest mountain on Earth from the road.

Mustang — to enter a completely different world: Tibetan culture, ancient monasteries, barren high-altitude valleys, and roads disappearing into the horizon.

Manang — a true enduro adventure through high mountain passes, rocky trails, and immense Himalayan landscapes.

Little Tibet — to venture even farther from the familiar India, into a world of Buddhist culture, high-altitude landscapes, and ancient roads.

We do not try to make all our journeys look alike.

Every route has its own character, its own rhythm, and its own story.

The Route Comes From Experience

We don’t create our journeys in an office.

Every route is built on years of riding through Nepal, India, Bhutan, and Tibet.

Oleg has been leading motorcycle adventures in the Himalayas since 2006. Over the years, thousands of kilometres of roads have become his own map of places, routes, mountain passes, hotels, people, and unexpected opportunities.

So we know not only where to ride.

We know when to go. Which road to take. Where it is worth stopping. Where the route can be made more challenging. And where it is better to turn back.

That experience is what turns a ride into a real journey.

Sometimes the Best Route Is the One That Wasn’t in the Plan

The Himalayas don’t like rigid itineraries.

The weather changes. Roads change. Mountain passes close. New opportunities appear.

So we have a plan — but we don’t worship the plan.

If a place appears along the way that is worth changing the route for, we change the route.

If we want to stay longer, we stay.

If the road becomes too difficult, we find another way.

A journey should remain a journey.

Small Groups. A Big Adventure.

We don’t build our routes for mass tourism.

A small group allows us to preserve the very things people come to the Himalayas for:

freedom of movement, genuine interaction, the ability to change plans, and attention to every participant.

Our journeys often become more than just a ride.

People arrive in Nepal as members of a group.

And they leave with the feeling that they have completed a real expedition together with friends.

We Take Care of Everything That Gets in the Way of Travelling

The Himalayas should be challenging.

But organising the journey shouldn’t be.

We plan the route, motorcycles, accommodation, meals, permits, communications, support, luggage transport, and technical assistance in advance.

On the road, there are people beside you who know the local roads and know how to deal with whatever comes up.

Your job is simpler.

Get on the motorcycle.

Twist the throttle.

And look around.

The People Behind Our Journeys

Ride Himalaya is built by people who live and work in the Himalayas.

People who know these roads not from maps.

People who have ridden them themselves — many times.
