Choosing the ideal time for a motorcycle tour is a task that requires considering many factors: your personal preferences, your level of preparedness for varying weather conditions, and the destination of your trip. Based on our experience, we would like to share our advice on when is best to conquer the roads of India and Nepal.
The most comfortable period for motorcycle tours in India begins at the end of April and lasts until July — early August. At the end of July, the monsoon season arrives in India, making travel on the roads extremely dangerous. Therefore, for the safest and most enjoyable trip, we recommend planning your motorcycle tour for the very end of spring.
In Nepal, the opening of the motorcycle season falls in the autumn months: from mid-September to November, just when the monsoon season ends. In September, there may still be rains lasting a couple of hours, but after that the weather will delight you with bright sunny days and clear skies. This time is ideal for those who dream of conquering the breathtaking mountain serpentines.
Spring is the second most attractive period for motorcycle adventures in Nepal, the motorcycle season here lasts from March to May. These months are quite warm and accompanied by long sunny days with excellent visibility, but the nights can still be a little cool. With the melting of snow in the valleys, stunning views of blooming alpine meadows open up, creating the unique atmosphere of spring in Nepal.
Visiting the foothills of Everest in winter is an experience unlike any other, offering a profound sense of peace and wonder. The crisp air, the brilliant sun on the pristine snow – it all comes together to create a powerful emotional connection. Witnessing Everest standing tall in its winter raiment is not just a sight; it’s a feeling, a moment that seeps into your very core and becomes a landmark memory in your life’s journey.
